Mike Lemin G4UUB SK – Open House electronics equipment sale TOMORROW SATURDAY 7th March at Blofield

UPDATE

Now that I have actually been to the barn where all of this equipment is (along with Rob Howard of the Vintage TV & Wireless Company) and looked around for some three hours I can comment first hand.

If you want the latest colour screen touch panel transceivers you will be disappointed, but if you want to see and have a chance to buy a huge range of pre and post war classic radio and test equipment – both amateur and domestic – from all over the world, together with the occasional classic camcorder or theatre light then this will be a fascinating visit. (for example there are 4 x HRO’s there!)

As well as radios there are Avo instruments I have never heard of and probably at least 1000 valves and CRT’s! And there is a collection of beautiful wooden domestic radios and speakers which are being stored elsewhere at the house, so if you have a particular interest in these please let one of us know when you arrive.

I have added a couple of extra pictures I took yesterday to the collection below and would add that this is a one day only sale event because a local auction house has shown interest and it is likely that what is left after tomorrow will go to Auction in the near future.

Mike was a professional broadcast engineer, radio amateur and keen constructor and maintainer of equipment as well as a member of NARC and he sadly passed away late last year. Now his nephew Kevin, who actually lived with Mike and his wife for some years and so appreciates the vast range of equipment he had, has to clear all this equipment, components and books and wants to ensure they go to good homes rather than auction.

Initially I offered Kevin a table at NARC’s Table top sale later this month, but having now seen the photos I can see exactly why this would not do it justice as there is so much, from domestic radios and appliances to amateur rigs and Military radios plus thousands of components including hundreds of valves and the photos below show just some of the items.

There will be an open house style sale this Saturday 7th March 1000-1500 (last entry 1400) at Mike’s former home and everyone is welcome. Payments for items purchased needs to be by cash or bank transfer, though some items like components can be free.

Sale Address:  (NB This Post code on Google Maps takes you straight there and there will also be a sign saying Mill House on the road)

Mill House

Lingwood Road

Blofield

Norwich

NR13 4AH

Please note there is no list of all the equipment and components because there is simply too much in the barn where it is stored – come along to the open day and have a good look around. The pictures give a representation of the sort of thing which is available. The history or condition of any equipment is also unknown (Mike was the only one who would have known this) so everything will be supplied as seen and inspected on the day.
