NARC will again be activating Happisburgh Lighthouse during International Lighthouse Weekend which this year takes place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August.
This commemorates the many years of Lighthouse and Lightship operations around the world and the association of maritime radio communications in the role of Safety of Lives at Sea.
We will install and operate an HF station using CW and SSB throughout the daytime over the weekend commencing with set up at 0800 on Saturday until 1700 then 0900 Sunday through to approximately 1700 again. The station will be operated from within the Lighthouse and whilst we welcome general visitors to see us on Saturday the building will be open to the public on Sunday so there will only be space for the operator and a logging partner on the Sunday. Please bring your headphones and preferred key for operating CW. There are public toilets nearby as well as a pub in the village.
This year the event will be managed by Kevin M0UJD, so if you have any queries please contact Kevin by e-mail: m0ujd@aol.com
You can secure your place on the operating roster by entering your first name and callsign on the online roster below.
