Young Amateur Radio Community for Europe
A new community is being created for young amateur radio operators and enthusiasts across Europe, with the aim of bringing together young people who share an interest in amateur radio.
The community hopes to encourage friendship, learning, and activity on the air through regular nets, operating events, technical discussions, and future activities as it grows. It is open to young licensed radio amateurs and enthusiasts from across Europe, regardless of experience.
Since launching only a few days ago, the community has already grown to more than 40 members from several different countries including The United Kingdom, Croatia, Lithuania, Spain, Poland, Germany, Finland, Romania, Belgium and Austria, showing there is real enthusiasm for connecting young enthusiasts internationally.
If you are a young amateur radio operator or enthusiast, or you know someone who may be interested, please get in touch with me and I’d be happy to provide more information and an invitation to join.
If you are tired of the same stuff happening in your average youth “group” and want some activity that’s not continents away, join YERO (Young European Radio Operators)
The goal of this community was 10 members, and exceeding 40 now has really been great. And such heartwarming moments when i witnessed the like 5 people helping one person to sort out ft8. Everyone was dedicated and they were all very kind. one member said “Finally a youth server that’s actually good and active”
The community is run by me, Felix OH2OBU and Joni OH8EFI and the people. of course this community cant be run if people aren’t there to be run if you know what i mean
We are also considering applying for a special call sign both in Finland and the uk. Piotr GI8RPM is the only hf active full licensee who runs about 700w and hes 16! he will most likely be responsible for it
Attached is a video file of Felix calling cq YOTA for an experiment and it worked quite well! about 10 qsos in 10 mins, maybe more.

I will also use this email to ask if I can loan the clubs 7300 since I loved it last time I used it and I would like a more reliable radio for the net we are going to attempt. It would be much appreciated
Thank you again for your support. It really means a lot, and I look forward to hearing from James.
Best wishes,
