I am reaching out to see if your club has any archival mentions, old newsletters, or memories of my grandfather, S. R. Lowe (G2YU) – best known as Ray, who lived on Camp Road in Norwich later at Greenways Bunwell.
He was a Post Office Engineer and a very active radio amateur early/mid-century.
I recently discovered he was known locally for building a mechanical “auto-CQ” machine for National Field Days, and that he was heavily involved in portable 70cm operations across Norfolk in the 1960s.
If any of your long-standing members remember him, or if he appears in any old club records, I would absolutely love to hear about it to help preserve our family history.
Thank you so much for your help.
Kind regards, Fiona Law
