Morse Classes.
.
The situation improved again this week. Martin G4VAO is now with Jim’s class and is doing well. I am not sure where Tracey 2E0CEY is! She is a clandestine student who hovers between classes, which is fine as long as progress is being made.
.
. Those signing in this week were:
.
Tony M7NFK
Emma 2E0KFZ
James M1TES
Nick M0NVT
Jeffrey G0VJH
Brian M7SEY
.
Progress is starting to show now, albeit very slow. I have no problem with that as there is no target date. However, you MUST get a full knowledge of the complete code and it has to be instantaneous recognition, so please get that problem solved before you even begin to make serious progress.
Please do NOT use a Morse key and think that may be a good way of memorising the characters. NO sending should be attempted before you are copying at least 10 wpm fairly well.
.
Practice.
Here is where you may get left behind. IF you don’t study enough and get ALL the characters into memory, you will NOT improve at all. This will be more apparent as the gaps appear.
One program that was suggested is MORSEIT. Another is Just Learn Morse Code and a third is Morselefun. Try all these and see which one suits you best.
.
So, please try to do at least 30 minutes a day, more if you are really keen!
.
It’s still not too late to join as a beginner if you feel the urge or rather the Passion, my first Big P word.

Hope to see you all next Tuesday. This will be the penultimate class before Christmas. Look out for the Newsletter next week for a more festive edition.
.

Here is the schedule:

73 de Roger, G3LDI roger@g3ldi.co.uk May the Morse be with you.
