RSGB Convention 2026
The RSGB annual convention is at Kents Hill Conference Centre in Milton Keynes this weekend and you can buy day tickets on the door. If you cannot make it in person you can watch some of the presentations as well as interviews and SIG on the free Live Stream on both Saturday and Sunday.

400th Lowestoft Friendship and Check-in Net this Monday…
When Covid struck and we were under lockdown, James M1TES took the initiative to start the Staysafe Net on Mondays and Thursdays, this was to check on all the local amateurs and Lowestoft district and Pye ARC members were ok, and to see if any of the older amateurs needed anything collecting, James chaired the nets from a high point in his car.
The two nets ran all through the pandemic with between 20 and 35 check ins from amateurs. After lockdown finished a group of us decided it would be a shame to stop the net when James had to stop hosting the nets due to work commitments, so we went to just a Monday evening from 19.30 to 20.30 local and still using GB3YL.
It was decided to rename the net, so Tim M7TLM came up with the Friendship and Check-in net. A few of us shared the chair and after some time then for various reasons Chris M6CVL took the chair every Monday and we still have usually between 8 and 10 check ins on the net most Mondays. But for this Monday it would be nice to get a few more people in for the 400th net, as its a nice achievement to be running after 6 years from the start of Covid. I realise this clashes with Steve’s net on GB3NB, but next Monday 12th October is the 400th Lowestoft Friendship and Check-in net on GB3YL from 19.30 and we would welcome anyone to join us.
