Morse Classes.

These are due to stop on April 18th. My class will be the last one of the week. There will then be a break over the summer to allow everybody to enjoy the weather, do their gardening, go on holiday and so on. I hope you will all enjoy the summer break, but continue to stick to a BIG P Practice routine of some sort throughout the summer months.
We will resume classes again at the end of September and I will be posting on here the commencement date of the autumn/winter semester.

.
MORSE NEWS will be continuing but in shorter form. It will serve as a gentle reminder to carry on with the Practice and I hope to see an improvement in standards when we start again!

The NARC CW Monday Night Net.

telegraphiste

.
The same applies now to the NARC CW Net, held each Monday evening. This coming Monday there won’t be a net because there is an RSGB CC CW contest. I hope most of you will participate because we will be short of a few good scorers and Bristol are straining at their leash, try to catch us! The last Net will be on Monday 14th April. Thereafter we will all be out enjoying the sun, cutting the grass, or planting acres of vegies, or even holidaying in the Pacific or somewhere exotic.
There will still be a few who won’t be doing any of the above so consider Monday evenings an ad hoc sked each week at 8 p.m. on 3543. The organised Net will start up again in late September.

CW OPS

.
The CWT sessions will carry on regardless so hope to see some of you on those throughout the summer as usual. However, remember that with the change to BST, times for the CWTs have changed too.
.
Get some Big Practice sessions going and you too can join CW OPS.
.
To join CW OPS you can ask to be nominated but bear in mind that you should be able to conduct a QSO at a minimum speed of 25 wpm, and your nominator will have to provide proof of at least two QSOs at that speed.
.
If you are going to Hamcation this year ( Dayton as it used to be ) look out for the CW OPS booth and also their dinner, should be great fun.

General CW Operating.
.

and thinking about operating CW:
“Do today what others won’t, so you can do tomorrow what others can’t.”

.
For those of a nervous disposition, try joining FISTS. FISTS caters for the more casual, laid back operator who does not feel comfortable at more than 23 wpm. They also have a LADDERS competition on 40m which is good practice. Actually for what you pay for membership it really is a great deal with a quarterly magazine too called Keynote. It contains lots of interesting articles.
.

That’s it, open the cage, play the music.
