National Field Day is a long established yearly event which is held on the first weekend of June, so this year it will be on 6th and 7th June 2026. Although this is a Morse field contest NARC have made it a much bigger event for over 16 years and we usually organise both a 6m SSB Voice station and RadioActive, a kind of radio amateur party which brings members and their family & friends together for practical demos, talks, special construction projects and food including Sunday Roast Rolls cooked by David & Tammy. You can even camp or caravan over Saturday night if you wish!
So right now we need to ask for your ideas and support – what demos would you like to see, what talks, what RadioActive project (which in the past has even included etching your own Printed Circuit Boards) so we can make the 2026 event special. For example how about a workshop on making your own End Fed Half wave antenna – 10-40m and kit cost around £20?
Please let me know what you would like to see at Radio-Active 2026 and whether you can support it by giving a talk or a ‘How To’ session, demonstrate your favourite bit of kit, or help setting up of the Field Day stations…
