Roger G3LDI’s CW Classes.

You had a week free from the torture of G3LDI so how did that go? I hope you did loads of practice and hope to see a significant improvement this coming Tuesday!
.
I suggested as homework with plain language that you should look at the RSGB web site and go to the NEWS. PLEASE do carry on with that. It will get you used to copying plain language. Remember that Pondering over one letter is fatal! Did you look at the news and try to copy some really slow plain language?
I shall be trying some plain language files this coming Tuesday so be prepared and I hope to see positive results! I want to see you progress to Jim’s class next, so keep up the Big P as often as you can.
Did any of you take a listen to the SK net on 3543 and if so how did that go?
.
ANYWAY, I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THIS COMING TUESDAY IN CLASS.
.
Here is the schedule:

.
Here is the information on the Monday NARC CW net. We would like to see more people join who need the netting and net practice. It is very good local practice and we don’t bite!

Intermediate CW class News from Jim G3YLA…
The intermediate class at 8pm on Friday evening on GB3NB has been running for a while now and we still have a dedicated regular team of potential CW ops joining each week. They are making good progress, and it shows what regular attendance at these classes can produce. Obviously folk will have family or work commitments on occasions, but overall, a regular turnout and practice during the week is the key to progress. The speeds are around 15wpm +/- and the focus is on real QSO structure and a thorough grasp of abbreviations, which are the foundations of most CW contacts. Listening on the bands is the best homework, so everyone can have a go and make 2026 the year of a CW QSO at your station.
