We are sad to bring you the news that NARC member and good friend to many Ken Noakes M0HGR is silent key.
Ken was a gentle and kind sort of man who, as well as being a NARC member, was a valuable part of our training team.
Paul G3VPT sent me these words to share about his very good friend…
Over fifty years ago my wife Linda & Kens wife Carole both worked in the same insurance office in Norwich and we got to know Ken that way. At that time Ken worked in the motor trade but also had an interest in radio. Ken was involved in the foundation-and intermediate training at the club and he was just going to sit in the full licence course when David talked him into sitting the full exam – Ken spent many hours at home with Paul going through all the exam papers we could find!
Ken also liked trains and we took part in many ” railways on the air” events with the club, he would often help with JOTA with the local scouts, he will be very sadly missed,
The pictures below were taken at Railways on the Air Events which NARC ran over the years.
Ken’s funeral will be on Tuesday 27th May at 14.30 – more details when we have them.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Ken’s family and friends.
Rest in peace Ken.
