Chairman
I live near Attleborough and I am the current Chairman of Norfolk Amateur Radio Club, Examination Secretary for Radio courses and ‘Bright Sparks’ coordinator – our group which aims to encourage and help youngsters with electronics and construction. I was licensed in 1993 and despite running a small electronics company since 1981 I still really enjoy electronics/radio as my favourite hobby along with large and small scale railways and associated technology! With a busy business, club and family life I sadly have very little time for actual on-the-air radio, but I am partiularly interested in Amateur Television and construction – in particular micro-miniaturisation. I have been using an Apple Mac since it first came out in 1984 when I had to save really hard to afford this 128K single floppy drive £2000 computer with a 9″ monochrome screen, but after feeling rather isolated (and sometimes ridiculed!) in this belief for many years I am delighted that now many others seem to also appreciate their innovation, design and intuitive ease of use. Having been single all my life, through great friendships met through Norfolk Amateur Radio Club I finally met my perfect life partner and in October 2013 I married Tammy M3PLU.
