Our annual Radio Active Party weekend is only a month away on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June at Great Ellingham, 3 miles from Attleborough. It will have all the usual features including a National Field Day CW Station, a 6m Voice Station, Talks, workshops and projects, plus Tammy and David’s home cooked roast rolls on Sunday. And it’s all free for NARC Members and invited guests!
I need your feedback!
One of the other things we try to do here are projects or activities which are too big for CNS meetings or need specialist help or equipment and I am delighted that Nick M0HGU is going to run a project group for up to 10 people to completely make a project, including etching the circuit board! But Nick is not sure which project would be most popular so offers the following three ideas and needs YOUR feedback if you want to be part of this – the project I receive the most votes for will be the chosen one!

1) A simple QRP antenna matching unit – a Z-Match, will include making a simple PCB and winding a toroid (or two – depending on design chosen)
2) An active antenna good for reception from a few hundred kHz up to 30MHz, with a simple bias-T, this will feed a receiver of your choice (not provided), we will make the required PCB during the event.
3) A very simple, very low drop-out voltage limiter, useful for QRPLabs QDX/QMX type radios, this will include a small heat-sink. We will make the PCB during the event.
In all cases these should come in around £10 ish…
There will also be special offer tools, equipment and kits available to order before the event, including an extra special offer from major ham radio supplier Kanga kits – more about this next week!
