A very brief report from Mike G4DYC is here, he struggled with the poor conditions just using a vertical colinear antenna:-
I found conditions tricky-qsb/fleeting sigs…
My best dx out of 9 QSOs would have been TM5R but unable after several tries to cfm his serial nr to me. Did put it in log though.
Next best would have been G8NEY/p. He cfd all my details, He was happy with my detes But I tried in vain to get a confirmation of his District code. I logged it as BA( but heard it as BK-which does not exist.) So I’m hoping for the best. We exchanged reports of RS52 ! .I heard nothing further from him.
Best 73
Mike

Contesting can be great fun but I know there’s a reluctance to step into unknown waters. It’s a great way of improving many aspects of our hobby including one’s own performance and the quality of your station. If you have any interest whatsoever please call in to the contest net on Friday evening at 9pm on 145.250MHz FM or speak to any of the regular contesters on 450. Or indeed email me!
