Amateur radio that's out of this world! 2005

Members of the Norfolk Amateur Radio Club are hoping for clear skies during the weekend of the 25th and 26th of June   when GB6NAS takes to the air from Seething Observatory as part of the Norwich Astronomical Society's 60th anniversary celebrations. Not only will the event include SSB/CW operation across the HF and VHF bands, but stations contacting GB6NAS on SSTV and ATV promise to be treated to a glimpse into outer space as live images will be beamed from telescopes housed in the observatory's two domes. All amateur radio stations contacting GB6NAS will receive a special 'out-of-this world' colour QSL card featuring some of the best work of Norwich Astronomical Society's team of astrophotographers.

Members of Norwich Astronomical Society will be on hand all weekend to give guided tours of the observatory and to answer any astronomical questions.

Images from the SES are available in our gallery.
For those wishing to visit GB6NAS, Seething Observatory is located approximately 8 miles south east of Norwich and details of how to find it are available from here
