Low Power QRP on FT8 was created by G0CBO
With so much activity on the FT8 mode, have been trying to work stations on FT8 with low power. 40 Mtrs seems a good band to try and I have been surprised at the contacts I have had plus the reports on PSK reporter. Admit they are just Europe but you can work  stations and get results.
I am running a Yaesu FT991a with a GP80 vertical mounted at ground level.
I can see the appeal of this mode as you can get away with a simple set up and not have to worry about noise issues.
Well worth a try, mornings seem to be busy on 40mtrs and have seen some real DX go through.

Have any others tried this, be interested to read your comments ??

Hi Rod

Great to work you the other day.

I have been using FT8 using an ft991a wid 50w on 2m and 70cm and have had some great QSO's right down to Spain on both bands.

Give these bands a try,

Thanks for reply, I use just 5 watts on 40 mtrs, 30 watts on 2/70 ,40 watts on 6 mtrs. Owing to the volume of stations at times it can be difficult to get contacts but an eye on the waterfall on JTDX and you can find a space. Still prefer CW but the FT8 is an education.
