RSGB Club Championship

Why not take part in the RSGB 80CC over the next few months in 2010
Taking part may look complex on paper but is actually quite simple.
The contests themselves run each month from January through July inclusive.
There are three categories namely SSB, CW and Data modes. You do not have to do them all but can join in using the modes with which you are experienced. It is a good reason to learn the other modes for future operations.
Each contest is only 1.5hrs and runs from 2000 to 2130 local time on the respective days.
There are 3 sessions in a month, the first Monday, second Wednesday and third Thursday.
All contests take place on the 80m band and within the following band frequency limits:-

CW  3520 – 3570Khz

SSB 3600 – 3650 & 3700 – 3775Khz

Data 3580 – 3620Khz, Note that PSK31 on 3580 – 3583 and RTTY 3585 – 3620.

There are two power level categories, LOW which means up to 100w and QRP for up to 10w.
Exchanges are Signal Report + 3 figure serial number starting at 001 to be exchanged once with each station per contest.

Note that on Data modes the same station can be worked on both PSK and RTTY.
Logs are in electronic form using Cabrillo format and submitted within 7 days of the contest via the RSGB log entry ROBOT system.
Free downloadable programs are available for operation in the contest in order to record the necessary information and automatically create the Cabrillo format log.
All of this may appear complex on first reading but I can assure you that it is easy to get the hang of once you get going.

Training and support is available to get you going and help you through the process.  Just contact a member of the contest group :-
