If this week's news looks like a repeat, you are correct! It is! I received nil response lastweek, so I guess it was too late. I am trying again!
BOOTCAMP NOVEMBER 17TH 2019
.
The date for the autumn Bootcamp has been arranged for Sunday November 17th, QTH G3LDI as usual. The early fixing of the date should enable most people to make arrangements in their calendars. I have made sure that it does not collide with the CW CQWW this year, which is on the following weekend.
I shall be making a list, and checking it twice, so please email me with your details, name, call and so on. I won't issue a round robin for a while, but will be keeping notes. Any comments you might have will be gratefully received. We will conduct tests on the day if required. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
So far there are nine on the list, so it's building nicely.

Morse Tests.
.
We have had a request for a test before the bootcamp. If anybody else is interested in taking a test or upgrading the one already held, again please email me. We will hold them again at QTH G3LDI on a date convenient to all.
I still need a picture of those that passed last time, for publicity for NARC. If you read the Contest Chat, you will see that there will be a meeting at the Club on August 14th to discuss next year's contests. Please try to attend and bring your certificate with you. I can then get a picture of those that passed at the last Bootcamp.

New Students.
.
We had several people expressing an interest in learning Morse, both at the CW Forever evening and also Barford. New classes will be starting soon in September and we would encourage you to join those. It does ot matter if you are a raw beginner, we can get you started. Ideally do this BEFORE classes start in september, because it will give you a grounding in the subject beforehand.
Don't think that just attending a class once a week will crack it however! ALL the hard work is down to you and it involves what I call "The big P-word". That is PRACTICE. You should look to doing at least 30 minutes each evening.
You will not regret doing it, I can assure you. It opens up a whole new world of operating enjoyment.

------------------------------------------------
Both Jim G3YLA and Roger G3LDI have persevered with the local Classes in addition to Chris G4CCX so there hasn't been much ofa break. Malcolm G3PDH is the only one who has taken the full break, but all classes will resume once again in late September.Hopefully we will have some new beginners wanting to learn. If there are any budding enthusiasts out there please email me NW, so that I can get you started with the learning process well before the classes start. Great to see the support that Paul M1AFQ is receiving at the Club with his Morse in the Computer Room practice sessions. Try it! It really is fun.
