This is the first time this year and although it is only by 559 points, we are in FRONT of the Three As. It really looks good and something all those who have participated thus far can be proud of. The Three As are not really a Club for a start. They have the elite of the UK Contest Operators working for them, taken from no less than THREE countries, England Scotland and Wales. This is all done with the object of winning all they can.
We have three remaining CC contests for this season: Monday July 6th is the CW session, 2000 until 2130. Wednesday july 15th is the SSB session, 2000 until 2130. Thursday July 23rd is the Data session, 2000 until 2130. This trophy would be one of the best NARC has ever won and in order to win it, we really need lots of logs. To give an example of the dedication shown so far, Ray G3XLG has moved to Stowmarket into temporary accommodation. He is driving up to Barrie's place, M5AEC, to operate in all three contests. Now if only we could persuade all those who can take part to submit a log, we might just clinch this.
There are several who have not taken part in any this year, some who have taken part in only a few, and in the last contest, we had two new participants. Just think of the prestige we would have in knowing we had beaten the best, the creme de la creme; it would be a fantastic coup for NARC. You would know that you had been partly responsible for that success. It does not matter if you don't have a contest logger, take part on paper. We can soon convert your log for you and submit it. It does not matter how many Qs you make either, every one helps!
The Contest Group Net is on Friday evenings at 2000 on 145.250MHz so if you have any questions, please come on there and we will do our best to answer them, and help you make an entry.
The RSGB UK6m CW contest was on Sunday morning. Propagation was dreadful, however there were about four NARC members on. I did not sit there for three hours, it got quite boring, so I mixed it with some things I had to do. In the three hours I made only 20 Qs, quite poor.
John G8VPE has sent information on the VHF UKAC contests as below, so hopefully some of you will take part in those.
